Join artist, Kristin Luke for an informal tour and talk of her exhibition, Shop Mine Flyer Flower Skull. The exhibition arises from Oriel Machno, a gallery in the rural Welsh village of Penmachno where she lives, which has constituted her creative practice for the past 5 years. Luke has built Oriel Machno with community constituents as a complex site of interdisciplinary discourse and practice. In this space, artists hold exhibitions; farmers demonstrate sustainability; third sector organisations convene meetings; crafters sell goods. It is a space that cultivates a social ecology.
The talk will include insights into the works on show and how this exhibition was developed and staged. Questions and discussion around the themes of the show will be warmly welcomed.
This talk is suitable for anyone with an interest in the exhibitions, and no prior art knowledge is required. All are welcome, and stools are available for anyone who would like to be seated while joining in.
