Artist profiles and statements

Bootleg Builder- sustainable homeware.

Nick is the “Bootleg Builder”.

A lot Nick’s work starts with things that were discarded. Broken furniture, offcuts, or architectural salvage. Bits of wood people find for him, as he becomes more well known in his community. If Nick sees something that might be useful, and he has the space, he’ll take it.

Nick never starts with an idea of what he is going to make. It is more about seeing what is in front of him and figuring out what it wants to be. A stool, a tray, maybe just some coasters. It all depends on the material.

If he can keep something out of landfill or even delay recycling it then that’s worth doing for him.

The goal is to make something solid and useful that someone will want to have in their home. That means the materials get a proper second chance, and Nick gets to keep on making. It’s a way of continuing the story of those things that were nearly lost.

It is a metaphor which Nicki loves: the second chance, it applies to materials as well as people. Nick believes that we all deserve another go at being useful.

Debbie Nairn

Debbie is a ceramic artist inspired by the tiniest particle to the universe and everything inbetween. Form and line are Debbie’s language and simplicity her conversation.

Francis Allwood

Francis makes beautiful original prints inspired by a life-long passion for nature and designed to fetch a smile. Francis specialises in intaglio printmaking methods, playing especially with the collagraph process; the range of expression that can be gained by manipulating cardboard or, even better, an old oat milk carton is really very exciting! You will also find many stunning botanical prints on display – in these one-off monoprints the peaceful fine details of nature speak for themselves. As well as original prints, framed and for the browser, Francis also sells greetings cards based upon her original print designs.

Kirsty Williams Ceramics

Kirsty makes most of her work on a potter’s wheel but also enjoys slab building. Each piece reflects a minimalist aesthetic, blending timeless design with everyday practicality. Thoughtfully crafted to enhance daily rituals, offering beauty and purpose for sharing moments or quiet solitude.

Lelalo

Lelalo is a small batch Polymer Clay and resin art brand based in Manchester founded by Leah, a creative maker from Wales. Lelalo art includes earrings, necklace pendants, rings and motivational wall hangings. Every piece is created from scratch with Polymer Clay, resin or a combination of both, designed with fun and vibrancy in mind.

Leah is dedicated to making items that spark joy with fusions of colour, texture, shape and sparkle! Items are inspired by nature, fantasy, nostalgia and realism elements to excite emotions and self-expression.

Lost In The Wood

Laura from Lost in the Wood uses crochet and needle felting to create soft-sculpture pieces which reflect her fascination with anatomy, public health and the natural world. Intended as an engaging way of taking things which are usually hidden or microscopic, and showing them as visible and vibrant. She enjoys subverting the expectations which often accompany textiles, promoting them as a place where art, science, and stories meet.

Lucy Elizabeth Jones

Lucy, who was born in Chester, specialised in painting with 20% public art at Winchester School of Art, since which, whilst honouring its painterly legacy, she has taken a multidisciplinary approach to her artwork.

‘As time and history collects in layers upon our environment, I assemble my paintings and sculptural pieces, one mark, one technique, one process layered onto or woven into another. These range from free intuitive gestures to more ordered printed or photographic processes.

This assembly method utilises the interplay between control and unpredictability. Which for me using highly contrasting techniques highlights the human part of being an artist against a backdrop of rigid constraints.

Much of my abstract painting focuses on the idea of a place. A place that inhabits a moment of transition from one state to another, which could be described as being in a state of flux.

The world I inhabit and have a fascination for, is often characterised by urban decay or post-industrialisation, and illustrates the transitory nature of man’s presence.’

Saltwater & Starlight

Saltwater & Starlight Ceramics are handmade on the Llŷn Peninsula by Pwllheli based artist Jessica Leese.

Jessica takes inspiration from the Stunning Scenery of North Wales and the rich and diverse folklore of the United Kingdom. While also referencing her past as a jeweller and silversmith by including gold and platinum lustres in her work.

Satoko Takemura Jewellery

Satoko lives and works in Penllyn and has been practicing hand engraving since 2015. This meticulous technique has become central to her work, allowing her to explore light, surface and texture in precious metals. Her jewellery combines traditional craftsmanship with a refined contemporary sensibility, creating pieces that are both tactile and expressive.

Siân's Glass

Glass is my passion. I love how light shining through my colourful stained-glass window ornaments brightens up any room, and hopefully brings a little joy and happiness as well!

Using the Tiffany copper foil technique, and mainly inspired by all things Nature, I create a wide variety of glass art. However, I’m particularly drawn to making fruit and vegetables .. such pleasing shapes and colours.

On starting the creative process, I take great care to select the best combinations of glass colour and texture, (with a particular predilection for iridescent glass!), before finessing the shapes by grinding, then meticulously foiling, and finally soldering all the pieces together. This can be a painstaking process, but well worth the final eye-catching results.

SionedM Art

I paint the quiet landscapes of North Wales, focusing on stillness, soft light, and the gentle rhythms of the land. My work invites a moment of pause and a sense of calm.

The Moonlit Press

The Moonlit Press creates original, joyful jewellery, greeting cards and gifts from their Shropshire Studio. From simple studs to intricate statement earrings, every piece is beautifully handcrafted and fun to wear.

The Whale Creative

The Whale Creative crafts one-of-a-kind scarves using deadstock and end-of-line cashmere and lambswool yarns, giving new life to exceptional materials. Each scarf is individually designed, lightweight, irresistibly soft, and beautifully warm. Created with intention and respect for both craft and sustainability, these pieces are made to be worn and treasured for years to come.
