This tour will be delivered in Welsh only.

Mae’r daith hon wedi cael ei chynllunio i roi trosolwg o waith Taloi Havini yn arddangosfa Artes Mundi 10. Bydd y daith hamddenol hon yn cael ei chyflwyno gan Bethan Mair Williams. Bydd y daith hon yn un unigryw, oherwydd nid yn unig y bydd yn archwilio celf Taloi Havini, ond hefyd cysylltiad personol Bethan â’r artist a’i theulu. Mae Bethan yn byw yng ngogledd Cymru ar hyn o bryd, ond mae ganddi gysylltiad â Bougainville ers ei phlentyndod cynnar. Mae’r cysylltiad personol hwn yn rhoi dealltwriaeth ddyfnach iddi o’r nawsau a’r dylanwadau diwylliannol sy’n llywio mynegiant artistig Taloi Havini, gan ganiatáu i ni ymgolli yn y straeon a’r cymhlethdodau sy’n rhan annatod o gelf Taloi Havini.

Mae lleoedd yn brin a bydd gennym staff ychwanegol ar gael i groesawu a chynorthwyo ar y diwrnod. Os hoffech chi ofyn am unrhyw gymorth ychwanegol o ran mynediad, neu gysylltu â ni gydag unrhyw gwestiynau, anfonwch e-bost at [email protected]

Artist profiles and statements

Taloi Havini

Taloi Havini is from the Nakas Tribe of Hakö people from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (one of the Solomon Islands, part of Papua New Guinea). Her work is informed by her family history and its ties to the land and communities in Bougainville and she uses a range of media in her work, including photography, audio and video, sculpture, immersive installation and print. Knowledge – production, transmission, inheritance, mapping and representation – are central themes in Havini’s work where she examines these in relation to land, architecture and place.
