Artist profiles and statements

Amanda Farrell - Artist at work

I love being outside in all weathers! My art is a way of recording the colours I see while i’m out walking, cycling and running. One passion feeds the other!

Amy Sterly Prints

I make small artists’ books from prints and collage inspired by nature and the landscape of Wales.

Hazel Bay

I specialise in designing colourful homewares and jewellery from untraditional materials such as windfallen branches, pencils and industrial materials. I love the journey from raw material to realising the concept. The results are always surprising, fun and fascinating.

Jo Lavelle

My inspiration and jewellery style derives from petal and leaf patterns in nature that create natural repeated forms and beautiful intricate detail. Through my jewellery design and making processes I aim to create layers upon layers of silver tags or loops combined with different finishes and stones to create texture, volume and movement.

Kirsty Williams Ceramics

Kirsty Williams Ceramics creates handmade, functional stoneware pieces that celebrate simplicity and purpose. Each piece reflects a minimalist aesthetic, blending timeless design with everyday practicality. Thoughtfully crafted to bring beauty and ease to daily rituals, Kirsty’s ceramics are more than objects- they are companions for moments shared around the table or enjoyed in quiet solitude.

Nettleton Pottery

Working in porcelain to create sculptural vessels and wall hangings, Laura’s work not only celebrates the northern landscape, but is also steeped in her family history.

Laura is a collector, retriever, and storyteller, repurposing scavenged driftwood alongside vintage lace and crochet founded in her family’s craft heritage to impress the clay and its formations with memories and journeys. Bringing together shapes and forms she remembers the topography of well-traversed coastlines, coves and rockpools.

Laura’s work and the stories behind it are such that they can evoke an emotional response, resonating with others through their own childhood memories and family connections.

Rag Bagz

I made handmade bags from my small workshop in Tregarth, using upcycled outdoor equipment and materials.

Ruth Green

Ruth makes bright and colourful screenprints, which are inspired by mid-century design.
As a keen gardener, her prints feature horticultural themes, and are populated with birds and animals. Bold colours are layered with strong graphic lines to create simple and engaging compositions.
The prints are made in limited editions, on high quality Fabriano paper, and presented in conservation standard mounts.

Stephanie Mann

Stephanie is a jewellery designer driven by the challenge of turning fleeting visual experiences into tactile, wearable objects using photographs of the intricate patterns and textures that surround us.
Her practice is an exploration of how these images can be transformed into jewellery using acid etched silver and printed aluminium.
Stephanie’s latest collection debuts coloured aluminium combined with her signature etched silver to create vibrant and playful jewellery.

Tracy J Hulse

A Mixed media collage artist using figurative and abstract themes to produce pieces that are sometimes thought provoking but always colourful.

Basketry by Karla

Local basketmaker Karla Pearce uses natural materials including willow, pine needles, marram grass and other foraged fibres to create beautiful and useful traditional baskets and pieces of art. Believing in the importance of keeping traditional skills and heritage crafts alive, Karla also teaches basketry.

Wrexham University BA Applied Arts

We are a collective of ceramic and jewellery/metalwork students on our final year of the Ap BA (Hons) Applied Art degree, Wrexham University School of Art. Our stand showcases the innovative and diverse work we’ve developed in our Creative Futures module to raise money for New Designers in July. New Designers London is 2 week exhibition at the Business Design Centre, Islington, for all the UK’s design degree graduates. We are ambitious to show the world the high standard of work and passionate makers coming from North Wales.
